6 Packs is a group of Singaporean students coming from National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. Their objectives are to renovate a secondary school that no supported resources in Vientiane and also do a cultural exchange with Lao students. The first time they came to Laos was in December 2008, this year was their second venue.
6 Packs spent the rest of their time helping to conduct activities needed in AFESIP’s shelter in Vientiane. The main activity was to paint on zincs using different shiny colors and materials. The paintings made together by both 6 packs volunteers and all the residents. All paintings were then displayed on the fence of AFESIP’s shelter, making it better looking and more enjoyable for the residents. ‘’By spending time and doing new things with friends, this painting activity was a new experience and a really joyful time for the residents’’, Mrs. Khunkham, head of shelter, said.
“Regarding the success of this activity, we will try to find another chance to do it again but also think of other things that we could provide for AFESIP in the future ’’, Simon, one of the members of 6 Packs group, said.
“We warmly thanks to 6 packs for this painting activity that the residents really enjoyed and we are really grateful for everything the volunteers provided to the residents. We are really looking forward to having another opportunity to see 6 Packs again in the future‘’, Mrs. Khunkham said.
